Project Lead The Way addresses this gap – and St. Croix Catholic is the first Catholic school in the state of Minnesota to assume Project Lead The Way’s STEM courses.
In this third trimester, 7th graders are diving into Design & Modeling course, logging, step-by-step, the engineering design process in their engineering notebooks. They’re studying real world problems, taking real world constraints into consideration, and using Autodesk Inventor software to design solutions. In their Automation & Robotics course, 8th graders are using ROBOTC software and VEX kits to design robotic sensors for the new St. Croix Crossing bridge. These engaging hands-on courses have a great track record of inspiring students to continue to take STEM courses well into high school and beyond. Next year, we’ll be adding Energy & the Environment for 6th grade.
