As we plan for the 2023-2024 school year, we are discerning the sustainability of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for students in Grades Preschool through 5th Grade. We are in NEED of more catechists as well as assistants.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a method of religious formation, drawn from the Montessori form of education. This method is rooted in Sacred Scripture and the tradition and Liturgy of the Catholic Church. The religious values of contemplation, enjoyment of God and personal relationship are fostered in both the child and the adult in a prepared environment called the Atrium. This beautiful method of religious formation would be enhanced by the participation and talents of our whole community. Please consider volunteering as an assistant or, catechist. CGS runs from September through May and includes a weekly time commitment of 90 minutes during the school day.
All help is appreciated and no experience in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is necessary if volunteering as an assistant. Many assistants fall in love with CGS and go on to become formed catechists once they experience this way of sharing the Catholic faith with the children!
