The Prayer of the Church

“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Mt. 18:20).

If you a looking for a way to enter into prayer at the close of the day, consider praying Night Prayers with the entire Church. Night Prayers are one “hour” of the Liturgy of the Hours which are prayed by all priests, consecrated religious, and many laymen and women. This means that at all hours of the day, throughout the world, there are people praying these same prayers on behalf of the Church.

Simply click on the prayers for the respective day of the week (see below), and pray the psalm(s), reading, and canticle for that evening Night Prayers traditionally conclude with a hymn to Mary, see final pages of the attachment, and Dominicans pray a hymn to St. Dominic.

If you would like to sing the prayers of Night Prayer, you can pray along with these recordings of the Sisters.
