Lessons in Advocacy: Opportunity for Middle School Students

This crisis has underscored how essential advocacy in the public square is for the Church. The Minnesota Catholic Conference has been working overtime in advocating for Catholic schools and the families they serve.

On May 12th from 10:00-11:30 am the Minnesota Catholic Conference is hosting a live, interactive, and engaging webinar, “Lessons in Advocacy: Students Standing for Life & Dignity”. It is designed specifically to help Catholic students ages 12 – 18.

Students will learn:
  • Why Catholic students’ voices matter in the political process
  • What the Church teaches about defending the life and dignity of every person
  • How their ideas can become laws
  • How to stand up for life and dignity by effectively interacting with legislators

Students will also have the chance to hear from and pray with Bishop Andrew Cozzens and ask questions of a member of the Minnesota state legislature. Registration is required to receive a private link needed for attending the secure webinar. Please visit www.MNCatholic.org/LessonsinAdvocacy for more details, to register, and for promotional materials including e-newsletter text and pre-made social media posts that can be used by your schools. Please reach out to Jack Lawlis, Policy and Outreach Coordinator ([email protected]) if you have any questions.
